Our Shared Class Ethos

In Fantastic Fir, we believe every child has the right to learn and flourish in a caring environment where they feel valued and safe as they take their first steps in School. As a class, we strive to be the best we can be and always work together as a team, cherishing each individual. All children are nurtured at their own level of development and are celebrated for every effort and achievement giving children a sense of pride and confidence in themselves and nurturing a love of learning.

Our Learning Environments

The indoor environment provides a safe, secure yet challenging space for all children to explore and learn. It contains well-planned, interesting and stimulating resources and activities, which are age/stage appropriate and accessible to all. To accompany the teacher directed activities, the children develop their independence through choosing which resources and learning areas they would like to access.

The outdoor environment has a unique way of developing children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills through interactions with their natural environment. Therefore, children have the opportunity to play outdoors or indoors.

The outdoor environment is planned to develop children’s social skills (for example, the stage will develop children’s confidence as they act and sing in front of their friends) as well as their intellectual skills through maths problems solving activities, our reading bench, our sand and water pits and our literacy activities.
